I have assigned each of my kids their own history text. Boy, grade 5, got A Child's History of the World. Girl, grade 7, got Mystery of History. Girl, grade 10 got Streams of Civilization vol. 1. Every one is assigned their own reading, and I have more time to dwell on the highlights together. We started doing this by reading Black Ships Before Troy together and I plan to read the Aeneid play together, and then go into Augustus Caesar's World. They also will have their own literature books to go along with the period. I will try and post our list later on.
